    Thumbs up C to C++

    I know this is my first post but I do intend to be an active member of TC. Anyhow, Ive been wanting to learn C++ for a good while but couldn't find a decent book or anything that would really walk me through everything step by step. I found something somewhat like a textbook, however, its in C...not C++ which is what I want to learn. Just wanted to know if I could keep learning C and it would be (basically) the same as if I had learned C++ and if I were to finally pick up a C++ class or find a good book would the transfer to C++ be easy because I had already learned C or are the differences to major? For those interested in the website I'm using here it is:

    It's nothing fancy, but, its a start. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Also if anyone knows a good C++ e-book (free or not) that would cool also.

    thanks tubby. i was reading the C++ for dummies book a while ago but even after i followed the instructions it wouldnt run the program that it was telling me to type. I even copied and pasted the entire code and into C++ and it still wouldnt work. However after your post I decided to look up more books and found an updated 2010 version and it seems to be working so far. I learned a little bit and it looks like i should be programming within a few weeks depending on how much i read per day -_- It uses Code::Blocks though. Its the same thing im sure though.
