Use that website to search for science fair project ideas. Last year I had to do a science fair project and my teachers recommended this site for ideas. The best project I saw in my class was a hover craft, I think the guys that did it found on there.

Some things I did for previous science fairs are: use an electromagnet with a switch to send a toy car (with a magnet attached to the back) across a track. Another idea is compare the life time of multiple battery brands and their costs. I did very well with these.

Plant growth is an easy one to do. You can either use music effect's on plant growth or what different soils/liquids work best etc.

    For music effect's:
Place plants in different rooms and then turn on hard rock, jazz, classical, and then a room with no music. And see if there is any effect on which music works best with plants (if any). Make sure to use the same type of plant, soil and liquid etc.

    or

place plants in the same room and then use different types of soils to see which soil allows the plant to grow the tallest. Make sure to use the same type of plant of course.
