I just watched it, I think with an open mind. I'm not exactly sure what I was supposed to get out of it other than to be even more in awe of the universe around us than I already was. I LOVE astronomy and science in general. Seeing those images of how many stars there are with how many planets around each is simply overwhelming at times.

What anything in that video had to do with God I fail to see. I guess some people can see evidence for atheism in everything, just like other people can look at the exact same things and see proof of God.

I was not a fan of him grouping all religion together as "anti-science" since that's just not the case.

Oh well, thanks a ton for posting the video. I loved the images/videos and the way he described how HUGE even just our little galaxy really is.

    I'll watch it again.

It was not an anti religion deal. He was just saying that because of religion there are a lot of amazing things people miss out on. And was showing how the universe is one of them. And I really do not see how religion has to do anything with God anyway. If there is a God, I am sure he could care less about some made up stuff that man came up with to control the masses. The bottom line of religion is there are rules and you better follow them or you have bad things happen to you. Its more for control than anything. I just really liked the video. Plus, if Jesus was real, which he is the main savior for most, his underlying message was to love something/someone more than yourself to the extent your willing to give your own life for them. How many people in Church or you see daily do you think would give their lives for a stranger without hesitation? Not many...But anyway back on topic.

The video was seriously enjoyable for me...I have watched it three times today

it seemed a little bit anti-religion to me since he said things like
"What place then, in the 21st century and beyond for the magical claims of organized religion".
"Every time someone has such a 'mindgasm' religion steels it by saying "ahh, you've had a religious experience""
"I often think about religion and how lucky I am that I'm not religious"
"Maybe you have to run away from the Mosque, Church...to have any chance of finding God"
"When I compare what scientific knowledge has done for me and compare to what religion TRIED to do TO me, I sometimes literally shiver"

Now if you agree or disagree with the statements is not important. Much of what the guy says is suggesting that religion is stupid, against religion.

He then goes on to suggest that religions attempt to keep people from learning. Suggests that "Religion paints anything not of itself as unholy and sinful" which is simply not true. Sure, there are some religions that are like that but there are also some scientists that are unaccepting of anyone that disagrees with them about anything (religious or not). He paints religion with a broad brush and that's rarely wise to do.

That being said, I also found the video seriously enjoyable. I watched it twice so far today.

I like how liberals are always like "yeah, you have to respect other peoples religions, and not say a what about it whether you like it or not". When it comes down to Christianity, it is quite the opposite lol.

Stop generalizing. I don't support any Stone Age beliefs, including, but not limited to, Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. There's really no point in arguing over it though, due to the deeply rooted indoctrination of most religious people. I nor anyone else can help you reconnect with reality; much like Inception, it has to come from within.

The good news is that in the majority of the developed world, religion is quickly becoming marginalized as a major societal force. Unfortunately, America's pretty far behind in that regard.

First off...Christianity, established roughly 33AD. Islam, established somewhere around 610AD. Judaism, established around 1800 BC. The stone age is a somewhat general term describing the time about 600,000 thousand years ago up until about 8000 years ago...As you can see none of the three religions you mention existed anywhere near the stone age. Ok, maybe that's not your point. lol

The rest of what you say, I really have no way to argue with because you are just to indoctrinated in your atheist ways. lol Peace.

I believe stone age religions would be what one calls polytheistic religions. You know worshiping of many Gods. And probably a lot of sun worship. Sun worship and worship of women go back way before anything. It makes sense really. If you are uneducated and know nothing about nothing, seeing this big bright thing in the sky that vanished and reappeared daily would probably fascinate you. Not to mention, when do you think we figured out sex? LOL I mean one day some one had to figure out how to use their penis. And then bam a baby pops out? Something new to worship. Women give life. We must praise woman. Woman valuable. LOL

    Sure can.

verb (used with object), -nat·ed, -nat·ing.
    1.
to instruct in a doctrine, principle, ideology, etc., especially to imbue with a specific partisan or biased belief or point of view.
    2.
    to teach or inculcate.
    3.
    to imbue with learning.

Done and done...I stand by my comment (in so much as it was said in jest, I don't really think you personally were indoctrinated in any sort of formal way). If, however, you think that atheists can't be or never are indoctrinated you are a fool.
