Hi TC. what are your thoughts on the Park 51, formerly Cordoba House, Muslim community center -- as most of you have probably heard it, the "Ground Zero Mosque"?

I gave my thoughts and addressed many of the comments saying that they should be able to built it there ...just because "its right" or "theres no laws against it"
While its true theres no LAWS AGAINST it....theres also NO LAWS saying it has a RIGHT to be there.
And if you REALLY wanna get all constitutional and shit...IN MY OWN OPINION as i interpret the constitution ...the govt should have NO SAY in where places of worship can be built...it should be left up to the community.
But some would argue that the community elected this dipshit board in NYC to adjudicate these matters.

exactly. you just refuted your own argument right there. it's true that you can't build anything anywhere, but that's pretty irrelevant in this case. you vote for board selectman, and they vote on proposals. this one was overwhelmingly approved.

the question, i suppose, was whether it should be built, not whether it can. that's an afterthought.
