Bad, only because I am uneducated and think that all the bad things in the world are caused by Islamic extremists.

Extremists in any religion are bad... Frankly, as long as members of any religion do not try to recruit me or force their beliefs on me, I don't care what they believe in... If it makes them happy, all power to them...

Just something to think about... Show me one country that has over 50% of its population being Islamic that you would want to live in. I'm not suggesting all Islamic's are bad people or anything, but it seems when they are the dominant religion the country sucks in virtually every measurable way. Now, I've not done any research on that at all so please feel free to bing it and prove me wrong if you can.

Spread and growth of Islam will have neither a negative or positive effect on the world. The only way this could happen is if ignorance gets the best of people and they begin associating Islam with terrorism.

There is nothing wrong with spread of religion until crusades start. Catholicism for instance, everything was fine until the Aristocracy and Hierarchy of the church let greed get the best of them, then it became an evangelical quest to convert or kill anyone who wasn't already Catholic.... and look at the Catholic church now... and complete and udder circus.

If/when you find empircal evidence to support that, be careful as to which you believe is cause and which is effect. I would tend to believe Islam is popular in countries with higher poverty and a generally more desperate populace as a result of its message than so suggest that because the majority of people there worship in one particular way that the country has fallen apart.

I think that has more to do with the way the government is structured than the country's main religion. The Middle Eastern countries with troubled economies are/were run by lunatics. Look at extremely wealthy Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates. They are predominantly Muslim, but their economies aren't destitute. Thank you, oil. However, since I am a woman, I personally would not want to live in a Muslim nation because Islam is so rooted in ancient traditions, I wouldn't have the freedoms I enjoy here in the US.

There's already over 300,000 of them in Detroit...

Wow, this is really interesting. But there has to be some flaw in their research somewhere, this seems so unlikely to happen, but I guess we'll see in the years to come.
