i mean, you could just as easily say that because people are FUCKING less or using CONDOMS more that we aren't producing as many babies. you could date this shit back to the pill and say our population is shrinking compared to our old generation.

let me help you here. your issue is BIRTH RATE and the effect on social security. if you can conclusively prove that a declining birth rate is/will hamper Social Security, then you can prove that legalized abortion is the main factor contributing to a declining birth rate.
Yes, birth control and its natural result of smaller families contributes in the same way as abortion. The problem with what you are asking is that there is no hard statistics to speak of on that. I can say with pretty close accuracy how many abortions have been performed since 1973. I can't really say to closely how many babies were not born due to the pill and condoms.

I used the statistics available to show how this one thing, abortion, effects social security. I showed, using plan parenthood (a very pro-abortion group) statistics that even the poor people (which make up a large percentage of abortions) still contribute to the social security (and any federal income really). If you want to claim that my stats are off because I used the average American income rather than a lower number that's fine and fair. Even so, if you cut that average number in half it still contributes a huge amount of money to the social security system!

You can use the same concept that I put out there for abortion for lower birth rate due to birth control but you'd have to find the numbers for your self.

Here's a direct question for you, Do you think lower birth rate (due to abortion, condoms, the pill or any other reason) is good for the social security system or bad for it?

umm, that would result in fewer people paying in and an even bigger problem for the social security system.

ereybody listen up. Dangerdog is right saying that abortion would "technically" mean nothing on our economy because eventually there would be less people taking out then paying in. BUT, because of the hard economic times... the difference in population that was CONTRIBUTED TO by abortion not CAUSED BY abortion may be enough to dip us in to debt. That being said, if the government goes bankrupt with all the shit going on then in the future there will be no social security to speak of... meaning that abortion was a bad thing. I understand that the impending debt couldn't have been forseen and that people using techniques for birth control would've never stopped even if we knew unless it was illegal... but it still will have been a contribution to the america going to shit part

tl;dr if america actually goes to shit birth control could've been a preventing factor if stopped
